NAOMI — Naomi Animates Our Meaning into Identity — is the animated visual soul of LingoSide.

Good teachers already adapt in the moment. LingoSide is designed to keep what happened: the phrases that were hard, the corrections that helped and the moments that went well stay linked to the lesson they came from. The teacher decides what matters next.

AI should make teaching more powerful—and learning more human.

IN THE LIVE LESSON

The teacher adapts.Notice the hesitation. Change the pace. Revisit the error—or let the learner keep speaking.

BETWEEN LESSONS

The learning path carries forward.Difficult moments stay linked to the lesson they came from, so they can come back at the right time, when the teacher decides.

Teacher + learner

Two sidecars. One for the learner. One for the teacher.

A sidecar is a small companion app that stays open beside your lesson. A learner needs private support that helps them speak on their own. A teacher needs to see what is happening and to keep the teaching decisions. One app for both would mix those jobs and pull attention away from the conversation.

01

Different work

The learner asks, “How can I understand and answer?” The teacher asks, “What should I notice and decide?”

02

Clear authority

AI can suggest an explanation or strategy. The teacher approves, changes or rejects it.

03

One shared record of the lesson

Both sidecars read the same record of the lesson instead of creating two competing versions of what happened.

The adaptive learning loop

Notice what happens in the lesson. Keep it. Use it next time.

  1. 01Observe the lesson
  2. 02Keep what happened
  3. 03Practise it later
  4. 04Teacher decides

What you get from LingoSide

Your teacher. AI on your side.

LingoSide sits beside the lessons you already have. It helps you follow the conversation, find your own reply and keep the language worth keeping — while your teacher makes every teaching decision.

  1. During the lesson

    Understand as you listen

Read what was just said with the translation right under it, while the conversation keeps moving.

Find your way into the reply

When you freeze, get a starting point for your own answer — and choose how much help you see.

  2. Between lessons

    Keep the language that matters

Save the phrases worth keeping from each lesson in one place, ready for later.

    Practise your own material

Exercises built from your lessons: try to recall before you see the answer, with reviews spaced out over time.

  3. Across lessons

    Return to the lesson

Reopen an earlier session and the language you worked on, in the context it came from.

    Remembers your earlier lessons

During a live lesson, LingoSide can bring back what happened in your earlier lessons — and if nothing was saved, it says so instead of inventing it.

For teachers

A clearer view of your students' learning

The teacher sidecar reads the same record of the lesson: earlier lessons with their transcript, plus the teaching material you upload and assign to each student.

Why LingoSide

Compare LingoSide with

Speak, Praktika and Duolingo adapt too — but only to what you do inside their app. LingoSide adapts to your real lessons with your own teacher, and never uses them to train AI.

The biggest difference

Every lesson learns how to teach you better

Speak adapts to what you do in Speak

Its lessons and reviews follow your level, goals and mistakes inside the app. It never sees your lessons with your own teacher.

LingoSide adapts to your real lessons

  1. Your lesson
  2. Your exercises
  3. Your next lesson

What you said, where you asked for help and the phrases you kept stay linked to the lesson they came from. They become your reviews and exercises, and your teacher can look back at the lesson before the next one. Each lesson makes the next one fit you better — and your teacher still decides what comes next.

Lesson memory: during a live lesson, LingoSide can bring back what happened in earlier lessons — and if nothing was saved, it says so instead of inventing it.

This is not model training: your lessons stay yours — they help you and your teacher and never train an AI model.

What you don't get with Speak

  • No human teacher — you talk to an AI tutor
  • You practise Speak's course, not the language from your lessons
  • No help inside a real lesson with a person
  • No one who teaches you decides what you work on next
  • Your audio also develops Speak's own speech recognition — no opt-out is described

What you get with LingoSide

  • A real teacher leads; AI supports you while you speak
  • Live transcript, translation and a way into your reply
  • Reviews and exercises from your lessons, spaced out over time
  • Your teacher's own materials, assigned to you
  • Every lesson saved — reopen the conversation and the language you worked on
  • Lesson memory — in the live lesson, LingoSide can bring back what happened in earlier ones
  • Your lessons never train AI models — ours or our providers'. No recordings, no ads.
  • Built for nine languages, in both directions

LingoSide is also building pronunciation feedback on the phrases you practise, for your teacher to review.

Descriptions come from each product's own public pages and privacy policy, read in September 2026. Speak, Praktika and Duolingo are trademarks of their owners; LingoSide is not affiliated with them.

Multilingual by design

One product. Nine languages.

English · Polski · Deutsch · Español · Português · Italiano · Русский · Українська · Čeština

These are the languages LingoSide is built for — each meant to work in either direction, as the language you learn or the language you learn from.

Research-backed by design

The AI suggested. The tutor decided. More students mastered the topic.

Stanford ran a randomised trial of that arrangement in live tutoring. When a tutor asked for help mid-lesson, the tool offered three possible replies to send next; the tutor sent one, rewrote it, or used none of them. It never wrote to the student and never decided what the student needed.

Plus four percentage points.

Higher topic mastery overall

Students whose tutors had the tool were four percentage points more likely to pass the check at the end of the mathematics lesson than students in the control group.

Plus nine percentage points.

The largest gain where support mattered most

Students of the lowest-rated tutors gained nine percentage points — the suggestions counted for most where the tutor had the least experience to draw on.

Stress-tested, not cherry-picked

Built on research we first tried to break.

We gathered the science of how people really learn languages into one brief, then tried hard to prove ourselves wrong. Only the claims that survived get to shape LingoSide.

A new operating model for adaptive learning.

REAL-TIME TEACHER-LED ADAPTIVE LEARNING strengthens the relationship a teacher and a learner already have. The lesson stays human; what happens in it, what the teacher decides and what the learner practises carry over from one lesson to the next.

Strengthens the relationship

It connects what happened in the live lesson, the teacher’s decisions and later practice — without taking over the lesson.
